The Music Boosters

The Music Boosters is a parent organization supporting the extra-curricular music activities at Le Roy Central.  Its primary function is to provide background support for the music directors, leaving their time free to focus on instruction and the performances of the students.  We get involved in many activities, both in front of and behind the scenes.  At parades, we have some members walk the parade route with the group to help insure that any problems from broken instruments to overheated kids are attended to.  At field shows, volunteers are needed to help move instruments and equipment on and off the field.  During marching band season, our home base is the equipment bus, the famous Black Knight Rider.  There we help unload and load the instruments and assist with the uniforms.  During the musical lots of help is needed with staging, costumes and keeping those hungry students fed!

 

 

The Booster coordinate many fundraisers.  In the past these have included booths at the Oatka Festival, candy, citrus and Snapple sales, Sweet Melodies, and the spring germanium sale.  The majority of these proceeds are used to offset the individual student cost of trips, and unbudgeted equipment used by the entire music department.  The Boosters also sponsor a scholarship award to two deserving seniors that plan on using their musical talents post graduation. We are in the process of planning some new types of fundraisers for the near future.  We need your help and ideas.

 

Get involved, new members are always welcome!!  The amount of your involvement is up to you.  If you would like to help but can not attend a meeting or want more information, please contact one of the officers or just stop by the Knight Rider!  Meetings are normally held the second Monday of the month.  Our current officers are:
